POLL: Who believe cds will become extinct in the immediate future?
My brother saw a ton of cds on my table the other day and said to me, “You’re using old technology. You need to get an iPod touch.” As much as I’m for the idea, I still like my cds. I don’t think cds are the endangered species he made them out to be, because you still have a) the illegal downloading issue where people have been fined thousands upon thousands of dollars by the government, b) tons of people who (although computer savvy) can’t be arsed waiting for an album to download when they could just go and buy the album from Best Buy, c) people who like to actually have an album with the artist’s pictures, lyrics, liner notes, extras, etc. physically in their hand and d) people who like to feel like they’re music connoisseurs by having a large emporium of music.
Do any of you fall under any of these categories? And do you think cds will die out and everyone and their grandma will soon be downloading from iTunes?
Haha I fall under category d. I think they’ll die out but not for a while, like 50 years.
