Help PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!?

Hi…I have an ipod mini, and it will not update! I’ve tried everything! I’ve even downloaded an ipod updater, and even it won’t work!!!!!!!! Is it my computer??? I know it isn’t my ipod because it holds 1,000 songs and I’ve only downloaded around 330!!!!! If anyone could help me that would be amazing! Thank you!

My ipod shut down like that. It wouldn’t update the software, it wouldn’t let me wipe the hardrive and start over, and every time I tried to sync with itunes, it locked up my computer. It stopped responding, and would’nt turn on. There was a message on the ipod that said contact apple.com or something like that. Long story short, I had purchased an extended warranty through Circuit City so I sent it back and they gave me gift certificate to buy a new one.
